This study verified the effect of job performance results before the turnover on the turnover causes using the exit interview data. By classifying the turnover causes into the pull and push factors, the research model was presented that turnover causes were shown differently based on the job performance results before the turnover, and that the job alternatives and job satisfaction were affected by turnover causes. Six year data of exit interviews of a KOSDAQ company which provides the software services in Korea were examined to verify the model and 102 leaver responses were included in the analysis. As the result, pull factors were the main turnover causes for the high-performers and the pull factors had the positive effect on the job alternatives. Push factors were the main turnover causes for the low-performers and the push factors had the negative effect on the job satisfaction. Based on the study result, we suggested the theoretical and practical implications, and the future direction of the study.
