China’s policies and legislations on the management of chemicals remains at an early stage. For the reasons, it is not easy to find any policies and the legislations on certain chemical substances that affect human health in the long term, such as bisphenol A, phthalates, and nonlyphenols, which are called environmental hormones. However, China has already restricted on the chemicals and its production and management. Meanwhile it is also keeping pace with the trend toward international restriction on using chemical substances. Furthermore, as the word ‘environmental hormone substance’ has been included in the thirteenth-five years plan’, it is expected that the restriction on using environmental hormone substance become mores strict in the future. Thus, this article will summarize the basic policy direction and legal system on the management of chemical substance in China, firstly. Next, it will examine how the use of environmental hormone substances in a major products, like food container, baby product, are being restricted by specific regulation.
