The purpose of this study is to investigate follower-side factors, especially how followers’ leader perception affects leadership effectiveness. Specifically, this study predicts leader prototypicality-the degree leaders represent the group (organization) characteristics affects the subordinates’ endorsement on focal leader. Such relationship is expected to be affected by subordinates’ mental states, that is subordinates’ degree of organizational identification. We collected data from 291 employees who work in a commercial organization and tested the research problem with regression analysis. We found supporting evidences for all research hypothesis. Result of regression analysis showed that subordinates’ perceived degree of prototypicality of their CEO was positively related to their endorsement on leader. Also, the positive relationship between subordinates' perceived prototypicality of their CEO and ther endorsement of leader were positively moderated by subordinates’ degree of organizational identification. These results can be interpreted as supporting results for our research problem. How leaders are perceived to their subordinates can be an important factor for leadership effectiveness. Specifically, perceived to representing the organization's identity can be an effective strategy for top level leaders who have major initiative for organization's identity.
