This study is purposed to draw to a low carbon design methodology that can be applied to the field in the urban regeneration of deteriorated slope residential area. While most of it is done mainly new buildings, research on the application to the existing building is not nearly being made. For this situation, this study aims to identify what the problem with this area is through field census, to draw the applicable design methodology and to analyze the effects of carbon reductions through it. First, despite the slope area is occupied the high proportion of the country terrain, the guideline or system are not established. In the case of Busan, the slope residential area tilted 10 ° is 42 percent of the total residential area. Second, when selecting the target area and analyzing the states of empty or deserted house, green zone, and community facilities, single family houses is mostly consisted that more than 20 years buildings accounted for 85.8% and below second floor buildings 80.1%. Last, the design methodology for the status and a detailed design methodology each of eco-friendly public facilities maintenance, eco-friendly residential composition, green infrastructure, eco-friendly port are required.
