Sheqi ShanShan Guild Hall is a natives association built by the merchants from Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces who raised the funds together. As GuanYu is piously worshiped inside ShanShan Guild Hall, here is named GuanDi Temple, and ShanShan Temple as well. ShanShan Guild Hall is made up by a group of ancient buildings which is known as a perfect combination of commercial hall buildings and GuanDi Temples. 1988 Sheqi GuanDi Temple was designated as a national cultural relics protection units. Using construction analysis methods and focusing on aspects of roof patterns, colors, symbolism, sculpture, etc., this thesis is giving objective and visual comparison and analysis between the Sheqi GuanDi Temple and other GuanDi Temples. The significance of this study is to show clearly the architectural features of different GuanDi Temples between each other through the results of the analysis, so as to find out its historical value and cultural significance. The art of Chinese ancient architectural modelling usually is expressed by the different designs of the architectural elements, for example, the roof , bracket , painting , sparrow brace , window, door, wall , railing , pillar and stylobate, and among which, the roof would often be the part contains more tectonics conception. This thesis is analyzing the aspects such as roof patterns, colors, symbolism and sculpture of Sheqi GuanDi Temple and the other three GuanDi Temples to find out the characteristics of the Chinese GuanDi Temples, including its territorial, cultural , as well as era characteristics.
