The United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea is the only one of its kind in the world as well as an area of extraterritorial jurisdiction. There are buried a number of soldiers who fought in the Korean War and this cemetery is represented world peace and a spirit of international cooperation. The korean name is changed to ‘UN memorial park’ from ‘UN memorial cemetery’ in 2001. In addition, there have been various changes such as administrator, land ownership, and facilities for the last 60years. In this context, this study is to explore the formation process of layout plan and context of the UN Memorial Cemetery.
