The aim of this research is to conduct a survey on the frequency of injury, methods of treatment, and adequacy of first aids targeting male gymnasts participating in the national sports festival, and to investigate means to prevent injury and its recurrence. While the most common treatment is with oriental medicine, among members of national team surgical treatment is as common as treatment with oriental medicine. After injury they received first aids mostly from their coaches and the percentage of first aid reception is highest among members of national teams. Regarding adequacy of the first aids, 57.3% received adequate treatment while 30.2% did not receive it. The most common cause of injury is lack of strength and among other causes are excessive training, lack of warm-up, and attempt of immoderate skill. They consider improvement of sports facilities as the most important factor to prevent injury, and sufficient warm-up, proper nutrition, coaches’ awareness for injury prevention are among the methods to prevent injury.
