Ever since related legal bases were established at 2007, University-level Program (UP) has been well performed at many universities in Korea. Such performance was possible partially due to that available standard curricula were developed for science courses such as math, physics, chemistry, biology. The aim of current study is to demonstrate a process for the development and contents of the standard curriculum of UP biology. The development process of UP biology is as follows. At first, biology curricula suggested by Advanced Placement(AP) of US, International Baccalaureate(IB) of Europe and General Certificate of Education(GCE) A-Level of UK were referred. Next, most recent biology curricula offered by several universities such as, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Korea University, and KAIST were checked and compared. Also the curricula of several universities were compared with those of high schools. Furthermore, survey results on several test operations of the curricula were analyzed. Based all these results, a standard curriculum for biology was developed. The developed curriculum contains its characters, goals, and contents. All contents were described in relation to 6 subjects and provided in 15-week classes per semester. As results, Biology(1) and Biology(2) were designed to include 6 and 4 units, respectively. We offer summary of contents and achievement standards at every chapters that comprise units. We also offer how to use developed contents.
