Aiming at the high cost of traditional UPFC and the inability of phase shifting transformer (PST) to continuously regulate power flow, a hybrid HPFC topology consisting of PST and UPFC sharing the same primary excitation winding was proposed. HPFC has both advantages and can achieve accurate control of tidal flow in a large range. Based on introducing HPFC structure and principle of adjustment trend, put forward an effective HPFC control strategy, namely through the expected power control PST tap cutting and comprehensive compensation voltage prediction method combined with a closed-loop UPFC control the output voltage of the way the trend of the system adjustment, the method can effectively decrease the voltage overshoot, speed up the adjustment Finally, in MATLAB/SIMULINK, the model of double-loop power transmission system and double-end power supply system is built to verify its power flow regulation ability. The simulation results prove the feasibility of the proposed control strategy and the precision power flow regulation ability of HPFC, which indicates that HPFC has a good application prospect.
