The Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller (CMAC) was first proposed by J.S. Albus in 1975 in the IF AC journal. CMAC neural network is simple in structure, fast in online computation, and easy to implement programmatically. Firstly, we introduce the origin, structure and basic principle of CMAC, and introduce its development and research status according to the structure of CMAC in parts. And on this basis, the unique advantages of CMAC and its comprehensive applications in different fields are introduced. Finally, the future development of CMAC is prospected. It has guiding meaning and practical reference value for the research of cerebellar neural network model.
