The paper proposes a video transmission system based on publish/subscribe mechanism and verifies related modules. The system controls the camera to take industrial images which are compressed by the H.264 encoder, and transmits the compressed video stream in LAN (Local Area Network) through OpenDDS; based on the QoS policy provided by OpenDDS and the control of the code rate by the H.264 encoder, the system adds an adaptive mechanism to dynamically adjusts the OpenDDS QoS strategy and the code rate of the H.264 encoder according to the node network throughput, so as to achieve the balance between video quality and bandwidth utilization. Experiments show that the average delay of video transmission under the LAN is 620 us.
