Automatic generation control (AGC) is an important function in power grid dispatching automation system. Under the environment of unified frequency control and electricity spot market, the importance of AGC control function is becoming more and more prominent. A real-time closed-loop AGC test scheme of AC/DC asynchronous power grid is proposed in this paper. And then the communication interface between real-time simulation platform and heterogeneous system of grid-province AGC as well as the real-time closed testing technologies are researched and developed. Moreover, the the real-time closed-loop testing of AGC in AC/DC asynchronous network is constructed and simulation testing based on two cases is carried out. The simulation testing results verify the accuracy of AGC control strategies and the effectiveness of grid-province AGC joint closed-loop testing platform, which provides good technical means for AGC function and performance testing as well as for the safe and economic operation of power grid.
