This paper proposes a novel compact and wideband Vivaldi antenna for K and Ka bands. The antenna adopts the conventional Vivaldi structure, and improves its gain and directivity by loading the tail fences and the director. A CPW is used to feed the antenna to realize the single-layer compact structure with a total size at 15.12 mm × 11.12 mm × 0.762 mm as well as the low-loss interconnection between the transceiver and the antenna. The simulation shows that the proposed antenna attains a bandwidth of around 56.6% operating over 19 - 34 GHz with a maximum gain close to 5 dBi at 26 GHz.
