The inter-annual variation of tropical cyclone disaster and disaster impact assessment have always been the focus of researchers. This paper introduces the overall characteristics of global typhoons from 1989 to 2018. To monitor and assess the impact after the disaster occurred, the coverage of typhoon's influence model was built based on the typhoon path. While the flooded area caused by the heavy rainfall of the typhoon was extracted from satellite image based on the remote sensing index normalized difference water index (NDWI), and the results were applied to analyze the disaster impacts in the cases of Typhoon Trami and Typhoon Lekima respectively as sample example in this study.
