The optimization issues of integrated energy systems (IESs) have gained increasing attention in recently years. In this article, a planning configuration method of IESs is proposed, in which the influence at the operation level is considered. Specifically, a model of IESs equipping well applicability is established firstly to depict the construction and the operation modes of the IES and its components. On this basis, an optimization planning model of IESs considering the optimal operation is then put forward aiming at minimizing comprehensive costs, which consists of investment costs and operation costs. In the optimization model, to reducing the computational burden, four seasonal typical operation modes are adopted to capture the impacts of different operation scenarios on planning results. Furthermore, the feasibility of the proposed method is validated by extensive case studies.
