We measured terahertz properties of AgGaSe 2 crystal with both transmission and reflection terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. The complex refractive index of AgGaSe2 crystal is quantitatively determined based on the measurements in the transmission terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. We also demonstrate the birefringence dependence of the generated terahertz radiation from AgGaSe 2 crystal normally excited by an 800 nm Ti:sapphire laser pulse.
