For many years, native platforms have been trusted to execute programs of ample size, producing unique results. As cloud platforms continue to grow in popularity and usage, the paradigm shift as a comparable solution only native platforms were known to handle due to its scalability across data nodes. With this advantage of cloud computing in mind, the objective in this research effort is to successfully execute a biometric histogram generation algorithm based on evolutionary approaches on a cloud application utilizing Hadoop and Map Reduce. The software developments and experiments procured a definite conclusion that biometric algorithms can be executed on cloud infrastructure. In this paper, palm print, a unique, permanent and trusted biometric trait, is utilized for authentication.
