In this paper, the problem of precisely synchronous controller design is investigated for a dual-axis turntable to accomplish a cooperated operation of the axes. Existing synchronous control strategies with the inferior steady-state or dynamic precision are reviewed, and a new control scheme based on an amended reference model is introduced to handle the deficiencies of classical methods. The model is set up with off-line practical data fitting, and the estimation of the real-time tracking error is obtained. Moreover, with a weighted parameter which is calculated online by utilizing the estimated value, a command regulation algorithm is programmed which allows the system to response according to the time-varying commands. The comparison of experimental results illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.
