Surface acoustic wave (SAW) resonant sensors are widely used in hash environment. The sensor is detected when the response signal exceeds a threshold in frequency spectrum. Because of complicated noise and interference in wireless channel, the threshold should be adaptive in order to detect sensors accurately. An adaptive and dynamic constant false alarm rate(CFAR) threshold determination algorithm for wireless SAW resonant sensors is investigated, which pursues the detection probability to reach a maximum in complicated noise and interference. A performance index for SAW resonant sensors detection is proposed, which evaluates the performance of threshold determination algorithm. Simulations and experiments have been done to verify the detection performance and demonstrate that the CFAR threshold exhibits better performance for SAW sensor detection than the constant threshold.
