The effects of basic copper nitrate (BCN) on combustion characteristics of solid propellants composed of 5AT/Sr(NO 3 ) 2 are examined. Thermodynamic theoretical calculation was conducted, it was indicated that the addition of BCN to 5AT/Sr(NO 3 ) 2 mixture is acceptable to reducing the adiabatic combustion temperature and enhancing the gas output. Closed bomb test was adopted to measuring the linear burning rate, the results showed that adding BCN to 5AT/Sr(NO 3 ) 2 mixture can improve the their combustion characteristics.
