Large distortion in inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) image of a moving target is a result of high speed and acceleration experienced by the target during the image period. To improve the quality of such images, a novel method based on the traditional envelop correlation algorithm and reference range profiles for motion compensation in ISAR imaging is proposed in this paper, according to which, a compensated image with high precision can be attained.
