MPLS fast reroute achieves rapid restoration by computing, setting up backup LSP for potential failure point in advance and re-directing the traffic close to failure point when failure happens. In order to economize the network resource, and improve the resource utilization, in this paper we provide a shared-bandwidth reservation strategy during setting up the local backup path. This solution extends RSVP-TE signal to include object protected, and realizes path shared according to the object for different failure point. In addition, this solution allows resource sharing among backup paths of different service LSPs, with a guarantee of bandwidth protection for any single node/link failure. The result of the solution shows that the usage of backup resource is less and the resource utilization is higher.
