In this paper, we investigated the dispersion behavior of two particular water-based nanofluids, namely water-Al 2 O 3 and water-Cu mixtures. Under different pH values the absorbency and zeta potential of the nanofluids were measured. The results showed that the stability of nanofluids was highly dependent on pH values, an optimal pH value can result in the highest stability of the nanofluids. The calculated Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek (DLVO) inter-particle interaction potentials verified the experimental results of the pH effect on the stability behavior.
