Cyber physical systems security is gaining vital importance and hence insider attacks pose a major threat to cyber-physical systems, allowing attackers to cause significant harm while evading detection. In the proposed methodology, the data is sniffed, monitored and analyzed to establish presence and nature of attacks using an intelligent device. The research work aims to demonstrate the analysis in a simulated cyber-physical system by employing man in the middle attack. The analysis is carried out in three phases. The first phase is to improve hygiene factors & Network recommendations. The second phase is to identify attack surface, methods and tools. The third phase is to summarize and analyze the observations in the legacy system to establish risk for data and system integrity.
