The islanded mode of AC Microgrids (IMGs) plays a crucial role in enhancing the reliability and resilience of power systems. Accurate state estimation is essential for optimal operation and control of IMGs. This paper proposes a new approach for state estimation of IMGs by incorporating distributed generators (DGs) droop equations into the widely used weighted least squares (WLS) method. The proposed methodology was more effective regarding initialization and measurement noise issues observed with conventional WLS methods. The developed SE algorithm was validated on a large-scale 906-bus IM G system, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving state estimation accuracy. The findings indicate that the proposed method can significantly reduce estimation errors compared to the conventional WLS method used for the SE of IMG.
