MicroGrids continue to represent a possible solution to address energy poverty in remote locations. This paper will document the results of such an endeavour. The paper will highlight the challenges in transporting and building infrastructure. The pilot project that was undertaken will be discussed and the resulting critical information that was extracted from the period of evaluation will be presented. A specific focus of this paper will be on supply and load management and the strategies implemented to address load management in rural communities. Key technologies used throughout implementation will be discussed as well as management modalities. The impact of community engagement and education will also be discussed and will form a key outcome of deploying said implementation.
