As people’s demand for culture becomes increasingly urgent, architectural technology is also gradually developing towards virtual reality. Firstly, the background and significance of the project were elaborated, while the current situation and application prospects at home and abroad were introduced. Secondly, a brief analysis and explanation were conducted on the characteristics of virtual reality in the design of different types of buildings. Finally, this article proposes the application of virtual reality technology to building structures, and through simulation verification, the results show that the predicted temperature and actual temperature of this virtual technology differ by within 2 °C, and the predicted humidity value and actual humidity value also differ by within 2% rh; the average resource utilization rate of the vernacular architecture display platform is within 0.6, the average CPU utilization rate is within 0.2, and the average memory utilization rate is within 0.4.
