The vision of the sixth generation (6G) wireless communications includes all spectra, global coverage scenarios, and full application scenarios, leading to massive communication scenarios. The study of the wireless channels is the foundation for optimizing communication networks. Wireless channel modeling needs to consider various factors in communication scenarios that affect signal transmission. Consequently, the identification of communication scenarios is a fundamental requirement for channel modeling. In this paper, we propose a novel scenario segmentation-identification algorithm for practical communication applications. By determining the segmentation range from digital map, the physical environment parameters can be calculated and further used to identify the scenario category. More specifically, the process of scenario segmentation-identification comprises two distinct stages. The first stage is to identify scenarios with rough categories (residential scenarios, commercial scenarios, industrial scenarios, and office scenarios.) and the second stage is to further identify the categories of sub-scenarios. We evaluate the proposed algorithm using the digital map of Meishan City and demonstrate its capability to achieve a satisfactory level of identification accuracy.
