In this paper, we focus on the high voltage distribution network reconfiguration (HVDNR) problem for maintaining load balancing and loss reduction. According to the physical properties of high voltage distribution networks (HVDNs), we characterize more tailored categories of basic formulations for different topological components in HVDNs. Moreover, we further construct a reliability-aware HVDNR model using system-level reliability indexes. Results of case study validate the effectiveness of this proposed HVDNR model with loss reductions and system-level reliability enhancements.
