A microwave photonic radar employing a time-coded linear frequency modulation signal is proposed, aiming to achieve high-range resolution detection while greatly enhancing anti-jamming capability. The time-coded linear frequency modulation signal is generated with microwave photonic multiplication technology, and then experiences microwave photonic de-chirping after being reflected by targets. Subsequently, coherent fusion processing is performed to the de-chirped signal and high range-resolution detection is achieved. Simulation results indicate that the proposed radar could provide a theoretical-level range resolution with a 6-band time-coded linear frequency modulation signal.
