This paper describes a compact four-element and eight-element array with wide-angle scanning for mobile phones. The wide-angle scanning of the two arrays are achieved with a small element spacing of $0.3\lambda 0$. The neutralization lines are applied to reduce mutual decoupling between close elements to better than -14 dB. An overlapped -10 dB impedance bandwidth of 25.5-27.5 GHz is achieved in the two arrays. The beam steering range of $\pm$: 60° in the four-element array and $\pm$ 70° in the eight-element array are achieved with a compact size, a reduced decoupling, a low gain drop, a small sidelobe level, and a moderate cross-polarization level. The proposed mm-wave arrays with the superior performance of a small array size and wide beam scanning are promising for modern mobile phones.
