Cavities are strong scattering parts for aircrafts. The whole cavity interior surface is usually coated for reducing cavity backscattering. In this paper, we present an efficient scheme by just coating partial interior surface. A discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method based on the self-dual integral equation (SDIE) is employed to investigate scattering from partially coated cavity. The numerical result of typical S-shaped cavity proves that the proposed coating scheme can achieve similar backscattering reduction but uses smaller coated interior surface region.
