Because of the multiple faults that extreme events bring to distribution systems, the reliability and resilience of distribution systems can be improved by analyzing the impact of disasters and improving the recovery process. In order to deal with this issue, this paper proposes a method to evaluate the recovery process of multiple faults in distribution systems considering maintenance strategies. Firstly, an evaluation index system is proposed to measure the damage degree and recovery effectiveness of distribution systems after suffering from multiple faults. Then, the 0–1 integer programming is used to optimize the maintenance strategy to obtain the best repair sequence of faulty components, and the evaluation indices of the distribution system restoration process are calculated. Finally, the modified IEEE 37-node feeder system is used to validate the proposed method.
