This research article presents a novel, flexible and data-dense, nested quatrefoil shaped 10-bit fully passive chipless radio frequency identification tag with 1:1 slot-to-bit correspondence and polarization diversity. The proposed compact multi-resonator tag configuration has a geometrical configuration of 7 mm × 7 mm offering a convincingly significant bit density of 20.4 bits/cm 2 . In addition to this, the realized tag is optimized for multiple rigid and flexible ungrounded substrates i-e Taconic TLX-0, Taconic TLX-8, Rogers RT/duroid/5870 and Rogers RT/duroid/5880. The proposed tag is capable of generating 2 10 =1024 unique IDs for tagging various objects. Furthermore, the presented work exhibits polarization insensitive feature, compact assembly for maximum space utilization and high code density there by producing a stable response to electromagnetic waves at different angles of incidence. All these features make the formulated chipless tag the finest preference for the deployment of economical item-level tagging and the internet of things.
