A scalable low-penalty matrix-based equalization method is proposed to improve overall capacity for uncoupled multi-core fiber transmission system by mitigating Q-factor difference among cores. Proposed equalization matrix is a complex Hadamard matrix with weight coefficients. A channel monitor is used to determine the weight coefficients with channel information. Scalability and minimum penalty are proved in theoretical analysis. A 4-core uncoupled transmission is evaluated in numerical simulation and shows up-to-0.4dB higher Q-factor in all cores than prior work.
