An improved ant colony algorithm are proposed to solve the path selection problem in the formation reorganization of Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) groups. A new local pheromone update method is introduced to accelerate the convergence of the traditional ant colony algorithm. Furthermore, the improved ant colony algorithm is used to generate the shortest reorganization formation path rapidly. Eventually, the numerical simulation results demonstrate the remarkable effectiveness and superiority of the proposed optimized algorithm.
