The fast pace of Electric Vehicles adoption growth has demanded the development of high performance bidirectional DC-DC converters (BDCs). Out of the different power configuration circuits available for such power transfer, the Dual Active Bidirectional (DAB) converter has definite advantage that make it particularly attractive for automotive applications. This paper presents a Dual Active Mid-Point (DAMP) DC-DC converter, derived from DAB and bidirectional push-pull DC-DC topology. The model, performance and design benefits of this converter is discussed for off-board battery charging system.
