Objective: To Explore the association of mobile phone dependence with social anxiety and perfectionism of college students. This study examined social anxiety as a mediator between maladaptive perfectionism and mobile phone dependence. Methods: Questionnaire survey was conducted for 360 college students as the research participants with an aid of Mobile Phone Addiction Index Scale (MPAI), Interaction Anxiousness Scale (IAS), and Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (MPS-F). SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 24.0 software were used in statistical analysis. Results: 43.4% of the students were addicted to mobile phones. The students addicted to mobile phone got higher scores on IAS and maladaptive perfectionism compared with other students without addiction to mobile phones. IAS partially mediated the association of mobile phone addiction with maladaptive perfectionism. Conclusions: Our findings may support the partial mediating role of IAS in the relationship between 'Parental Criticism' and 'Doubts about Actions'.
