This review on providing summative information to further progress the understanding on how to improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people who experience high rates of interpersonal violence and conflict. Focusing on young people with autism (2.8% of Australians aged 5–14 years in 2015), the project targets a rapidly growing population at very high risk of bullying, interpersonal abuse and consequent mental health problems in adolescence and adulthood. Problems associated with autism were estimated in 2011 to cost Australian governments and communities about $10 billion annually.
