The narrative discourse is one of the fundamental issues of narratology. This artistic mode is like a substance connected with many different and contrary components in establishing power for the literary fate. This means that the fictional variables in the story structure not only serve as the nucleus of the text’s coded schema but also construct discourse forms for a type of discourse. Accordingly, applying this framework as a navigating theoretical system to decode the novel “So do” by Vu Trong Phung from the narrator’s perspective and the time slices leads to the identification of the depths of changes in the writer’s artistic thinking.
