Highlights •BP loading and rolling edge morphology were achieved in BP-s-CN synchronously.•Photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and biorefinery were achieved simultaneously.•Just 4.0 at% BP addition increases hydrogen yield by 4.8 times.•Ultra-high hydrogen evolution rate of 1.45 mmol h−1 was obtained by BP-s-CN.
