Highlights •An orthogonal experimental design is applied to study the thermal-hydraulic performance of microchannel heat sink with different offset ribs.•The relational degree between geometry factors and the behavior of microchannel heat sink is studied with fuzzy grey relational analysis.•A series of microchannel heat sinks with novel offset ribs are designed.•The novel microchannel heat sinks effectively enhances the heat transfer performance.
