Highlights •The drug delivery route of curcumin nicotinate was improved by loading nano materials, and the drug dosage was reduced.•The construction of HA-M@PB@CN NPs provides an important alternative for the treatment of atherosclerosis.•The encapsulation of biomimetic membrane and the inlay of hyaluronic acid (HA) greatly increase the drug targeting effect and improve the efficacy of curcumin nicotinate.•This study provided new evidence for the mechanism of curcumin nicotinate regulating reverse cholesterol transport.
