Highlights •Integration of conventional absorption coatings and ceramic array structure design is adopted in the ceramic metamaterial.•The absorber exhibits tunable electromagnetic absorption properties due to high degrees of freedom design.•The absorber with a broadband absorption and thermal stability shows great application prospects in stealth weapons.
