Highlights •The deposit is the first greisen-type W deposit recognized in the Lhasa terrane.•Crust-dominated granitic magmas are critical to W mineralization.•High degrees of fractional crystallization of the magmas is very important.•This study helps to understand the regional W mineralization potential.
