Highlights •Effects of inlet angles on droplet formation were studied in detail.•Numerical and experimental methods were adopted and compared.•Smallest droplets were generated with 60° inlet angle at the same flow rate.•New correlation was proposed for droplet lengths in Y-Inlet channels.
