The authors propose a perfectly matched layer (PML) method for electromagnetic scattering problems from two-dimensional overfilled cavities. Both TM and TE polarizations are considered. The existence and uniqueness of the PML solutions is obtained. In addition, it is also proved that the PML solutions converge exponentially to the exact solutions. Numerical experiments are discussed in the last section of the paper.
