The article presents case studies of two male patients aged 41 with acute myeloid leukemia in whom a deletion was detected in the 3 ’ untranslated region (UTR) of the nucleophosmin (NPM1) gene. A discussion of disease remission which was seen in both patients following chemotherapy treatment with daunorubicin and cytosine is presented.
