The article deals with the genetic aspects of the HMW1C high-molecular weight protein of the subfamily of glycosyltransferases and their role in promoting HMW1 and HMW2 adhesins of the bacteria Haemophilus influenzae. Topics include the mechanism of HMW1 adhesin on the bacterial surface, the subsets of HMW1C-like glycosyltransferases and the structure of HMW1C-like enzymes. Also discussed is the other areas of HM1C that may be the focus of further studies.
