The article presents the results of a study describing an equation to illustrate the motion of lithium ions in the electrolyte of a battery. The study explains the influence of concentration and voltage on lithium ion motion in a battery using an equation. It describes the linearization of concentration and voltage gradient in two forms of Fick's first law of diffusion. The results revealed that ion motion was greatly affected by an increase in voltage gradient than in concentration gradient.
